FAQ
Q: Why does monk fruit extract not deliver the same mouthfeel as sucrose in my beverage?
A: Monk fruit is a high-intensity sweetener used at very low inclusion rates. It only contributes sweetness, without the bulk and mouthfeel that sucrose brings. For a sugar-like full body,Oriental Tongxiang offers beverage-specific solutions such as monk fruit extract paired with soluble dietary fiber or monk fruit extract combined with erythritol, to restore the rich mouthfeel similar to sugar.
Q: Can I claim "No Added Sugar" on my beverage when using monk fruit extract?
A: Yes, if your finished formula does not add sucrose, fructose, honey, syrup or any other mono/disaccharide sugars during production. High-purity monk fruit extract (mogrosides) is a non-nutritive sweetener and not classified as added sugar under US FDA and Australia FSANZ rules. Important caveat: If your monk fruit raw material itself contains residual glucose/fructose (lower purity grades), these naturally occurring sugars count toward total sugar limits for the "No Added Sugar" claim in Australia. Australia FSANZ has a total sugar cap for liquid products: ≤7.5 g/100mL, even with zero added sugar ingredients. The finished beverage must meet this total sugar threshold to legally use the claim. Oriental Tongxiang can supply high-purity monk fruit extract with low residual sugar, to help you meet labeling requirements for "No Added Sugar".
Q: What is the MOQ for Monk Fruit Extract?
A: We offer flexible supply terms. Our MOQ is based on the minimum packaging size of your selected monk fruit grade. Please share your required product type, specification, target quantity and destination, so we can prepare a suitable quotation for you.
Q: Can you develop a custom Monk Fruit sweetener blend?
A: Yes. Monk Fruit Extract can be evaluated in custom blends with ingredients such as erythritol, allulose, dietary fiber or prebiotics. The blend can be developed according to the target sweetness, taste, texture, solubility and processing requirements of the finished product.
Q: How do I choose the right Monk Fruit Extract specification?
A: Start with the finished product, target sweetness, required mogroside V content, dosage, particle size, certifications and processing conditions. Providing your current formulation or target specification can help determine the most suitable grade.
Q: Can I ship small orders by sea freight to save transportation costs?
A: Sea freight is generally not recommended for small-volume orders. For shipments with low volume, there is a higher risk of cargo damage or loss during ocean transit due to stacking and compression. Oriental Tongxiang will match the most suitable shipping method based on your cargo weight and lead time requirements. Multiple small-batch items can also be consolidated onto one pallet. For cargo under 200 kg, air transport is suggested.
