Product Overview
Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are produced from lactose through the transglycosylation of β-galactosidase. They are generally a mixture of oligosaccharides consisting of 1-7 galactose groups linked to galactose or glucose molecules. They are a naturally occurring functional oligosaccharide and one of the prebiotics that most closely resembles human milk oligosaccharides. They are not easily digested in the upper digestive tract and can be utilized by certain intestinal microorganisms, making them an important ingredient in prebiotic foods and nutritional formulations.
Qingdao Oriental Tongxiang can supply both GOS powder and GOS liquid.

Key Benefits of GOS
1. Prebiotic Formulation Potential
Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) can be used to design formulations targeting selective utilization by beneficial gut microbes. Any health claims for the finished product should be evaluated based on relevant evidence regarding specific ingredients, dosage, and target market requirements.
2. Powder and Syrup Dosage Formulation Selection
Compare powder and syrup dosage forms based on your process, delivery system, and finished product dosage form. Request specific grade ingredient data, rather than assuming the GOS concentration is the same for both dosage forms.
3. Processing Flexibility
Published research reports indicate that GOS formulations have good thermal and acid stability. Actual retention still needs to be validated under your formulation's pH, processing temperature, incubation time, and storage conditions.
4. Compatibility with Dairy and Nutritional Supplement Applications
GOS supplied by Oriental Tongxiang is widely used in dairy products and infant nutrition products, and can also be used in functional foods and dietary supplements.

Frequently Asked Questions
1,What is the difference between GOS 57 and GOS 70?
In published syrup specifications, these numbers refer to the minimum dry basis GOS content: ≥57% or ≥70%. They do not necessarily represent the GOS concentration in the supplied liquid. Please compare the dry matter, residual sugar, and analytical methods with the grade name.
2, Is GOS powder better than GOS syrup?
Both forms have their advantages and disadvantages; there is no absolute superiority. The choice depends on your production process, the required GOS supply, and the confirmed ingredients.
3, What is the difference between GOS and FOS?
GOS usually refers to galactooligosaccharides derived from lactose, while FOS refers to fructooligosaccharides. Both are prebiotic ingredients, but their carbohydrate structures and compositions differ. When choosing, specific evidence regarding the ingredient, the expected intake, processing requirements, and relevant allergen information should be considered, rather than simply assuming one is better than the other.
4,Can you provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and technical specifications?
Oriental Tongxiang can provide a COA.
5,what is your MOQ?
The MOQ is 25kg.
