Key Benefits of Chicken Collagen
- Water soluble and easy to formulate
Chicken Collagen dissolves readily in water, so it drops into a beverage, a sachet blend or a liquid-filled capsule without a dispersion step. That keeps processing simple and avoids the grit and sediment that poorly soluble proteins leave behind.
- Low odour and clean taste
The hydrolysis and filtration steps remove most of the poultry note, so the powder stays close to neutral. Formulators can hold the flavour profile of a drink, a gummy or a jelly while still carrying a collagen dose on the label.
- Type II from cartilage, Type I from skin, rich in the three key amino acids
Where chicken cartilage is the raw material, the collagen is mainly Type II, the type that makes up the bulk of articular cartilage. Where chicken skin is used, it is mainly Type I. Either way the peptides are rich in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, and hydroxyproline is the marker an incoming goods lab uses to confirm the ingredient is genuine collagen peptide.
- No major allergen and no BSE or TSE concern
Poultry is not on the EU or US list of major allergens, so a finished product does not carry an allergen declaration for the collagen itself. Chicken is also not a ruminant, so there is no BSE or TSE risk, which makes it a clean option for buyers who screen out bovine or porcine material.
- Suits joint-positioned products
Because chicken cartilage collagen is naturally Type II, it fits joint and mobility lines as a hydrolysed peptide that carries amino acids and peptides for connective tissue. Tell us the raw material you want and we will confirm the grade.
- Fits many dosage forms
One grade serves capsules, tablets, sachets, stick packs, gummies, jellies and ready-to-drink formats. A brand can launch several SKUs on the same raw material, which keeps cost, approval work and inventory simpler.
- Blends well with the rest of the formula
It sits comfortably alongside vitamin C, other vitamins, flavours, sweeteners and acidulants. Vitamin C is the usual partner, since it is the nutrient that actually carries an authorised collagen-formation claim in the EU and UK.
Certifications and Compliance
Halal, Kosher, ISO22000 and FSSC22000 available per order. COA, TDS, MSDS, species origin and allergen statements are supplied on request; certificate samples attached. Share your market & application to confirm required documents.

Packaging and Supply
- Standard packaging
20 kg net drum with a food grade PE liner. Smaller pack sizes and palletised shipments are available.
- Loading
the main port is Qingdao. Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong can be arranged depending on terms and logistics. A 20' FCL holds around 10-12 MT with pallets; the exact figure depends on the packaging and is confirmed per order.*
- MOQ
25 kg. Send us your application, target collagen type, molecular weight range, mesh, packaging and destination port.
- Delivery time
stock items can often ship quickly.
- Terms
EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF or other Incoterms, depending on the shipment.
Storage conditions: cool, dry, dark and clean. Keep it sealed and away from direct sunlight, humidity, heat and strong odours.
Customization
Raw material (cartilage or skin), collagen type, molecular weight range, mesh and particle size, odour and solubility can be adjusted within the factory's process window. Custom packaging, private label and mixed container loads can be arranged. Tell us your target specification, the end product and the destination market, and we will confirm what is available and which documents come with it.
FAQ
Q: Can you provide a COA for Chicken Collagen?
A: Yes. We issue batch-specific COAs for every shipment, on request. Each one covers protein, hydroxyproline, total nitrogen, ash, moisture, heavy metals and microbiology.
Q: Can I request a sample before placing an order?
A: Yes. Tell us the application, the quantity you need, your company name, shipping address and destination market. Sample supply and courier arrangements are confirmed separately.
Q: Is Chicken Collagen the same as chicken collagen peptide?
A: Yes. Chicken Collagen, chicken collagen peptide and chicken collagen hydrolysate all describe the same ingredient: collagen from chicken tissue, broken down by hydrolysis into short peptides. The CAS number is 9007-34-5.
Q: How is Chicken Collagen different from bovine and marine collagen?
A: Chicken comes from poultry, so it has no fish allergen, unlike marine, and no BSE or TSE concern, unlike bovine. In exchange, it is subject to poultry-related animal health import rules in some markets, and it needs certified slaughter for Halal or Kosher. Bovine and marine have their own trade-offs, so the choice usually comes down to the destination market and the label you want.
Q: Is Chicken Collagen an allergen?
A: No. Poultry is not on the EU or US list of major allergens, so the collagen itself does not require an allergen declaration. We can supply a species origin statement and an allergen declaration on request. Please confirm the final label wording with your own regulatory advisor for your market.
Q: Is this the same as undenatured Type II collagen (UC-II)?
A: No. This is a hydrolysed collagen peptide: the protein is broken down into small, water-soluble peptides, and the typical dose is grams per day. Undenatured Type II collagen (UC-II) keeps its native triple-helix structure, is dosed at around 40 mg per day, and is a different product. Tell us which one your formula calls for.
Q: What collagen type is it?
A: The type follows the raw material. Chicken cartilage gives mainly Type II collagen, and chicken skin gives mainly Type I. Tell us your target and we will confirm which grade and raw material we can supply.
Q: Is Chicken Collagen Halal and Kosher?
A: Only where the source chicken was slaughtered under the corresponding rule and no porcine-derived enzyme is used in hydrolysis. Fish collagen is acceptable by default, but chicken is not, so we confirm the certificate route in writing for the specific order.
Q: What molecular weight do you supply?
A: The material meets GB 31645-2018, which requires at least 90% of the peptides to be below 10,000 Da, and the typical commercial range is 1,000-3,000 Da. Tell us the range your product calls for and we will confirm what is available.
Q: Is Chicken Collagen suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
A: No. It is a poultry-derived ingredient, so it is not vegetarian or vegan.
Q: Can I make skin, joint or anti-ageing claims on my label?
A: Not for the collagen itself in the EU or UK, where there is no authorised health claim for collagen. Vitamin C does hold an authorised claim for normal collagen formation, which is why it is often part of the same formula. Confirm all claims against the target market's rules before printing.
Q: How should Chicken Collagen be stored after delivery?
A: Sealed, in a cool, dry, dark and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, heat and strong odours. Reseal opened drums promptly.
Q: Can you supply customised specifications?
A: Yes. Raw material, collagen type, molecular weight range, mesh, packaging and documentation can be matched to your target, subject to production confirmation and order quantity.
